ALLENTOWN, PA. March 21, 2023 – Da Vinci Science Center’s Executive Director and CEO, Lin Erickson, received the Unity in Diversity Award from the Rising Together organization. Founded in 2017 by Ngozi Ayozieuwa Bell, Rising Together brings together women who are community and inspirational leaders to take part in a day of stories, art and music in the Lehigh Valley during Women’s History Month.

The Unity in Diversity Community Award is given to a woman, young adult or girl in the community who uniquely strives to create a platform that supports and springboards the success of others; a woman who is apt in working on the issues that enhance the well-being of others irrespective of gender, race or origin.

Congresswoman Wild presented the award with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition citing Erickson’s role in formalizing efforts to support current and future female professionals in the Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math fields; increasing the emphasis on high-impact programs with career connections for underserved students; and developing partnerships between the public and private sector to advance workforce competitiveness. Other awardees included Gatherer – Esther Lee, recipient of the Gatherer award and Helen Fosam, Ph. D., recipient of the Living Positive Change award.  Erickson’s leadership was also recognized by Allentown City Council.

This year’s Rising Together event was held at Lehigh University on March 18, 2023. Learn more about the annual event and ongoing programs at womenshistorymonthlv.com
