Da Vinci Unlocked

ALL PRIVATE CAMP-INS SOLD OUT

Come and spend the night with some of the best that Da Vinci has to offer. Enjoy a live science show and select up to 3 workshop experiences from the following:
– Critter Coders (K-1st Grade)
– Slime Science (2nd-3rd Grade)
– Shock and Awesome (4th-5th Grade)
– Thrill Ride (6th-8th Grade)
– KEVA Cantilevers (K-5th Grade)

Grade levels are recommendations, not requirements.

Space Explorers

Embark on an astronomical adventure through the cosmos. Create your own rockets, examine stellar spectacles, and investigate the many marvels of space, all from Da Vinci’s Mission Control Center!

Unlock the world of coding and robotics and discover the power of STEAM in action. Decode the secrets of sequencing, patterns, and cause-and-effect using tangible objects and robots. Join us for an imaginative journey into the exciting realm of coding!


Overnight Scout Camp-In POlicies

General Information

  • All Overnight Scout Camp-ins take place from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. the next day.
  • One adult per 5 scouts is required.
    • We no longer offer a free chaperone ratio policy.
  • The staff at the Da Vinci Science Center will do everything to make your experience as enjoyable and educational as possible. Feel free to speak to a staff member at any time during a program if you have questions or concerns.
  • Registration is required for all programs.
  • Registration closes 2 weeks prior to program date.
  • Air mattresses are not permitted due to limited access to power outlets.
  • Troop/Pack check-in will be at the Groups & Reserved Program Entrance located on West Court Street, between 8th and 9th Street (This is a one-way street). This will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Adult Chaperone Responsibilities

  • Supervision: Always keep scouts within sight, adhere to the buddy system, and remember adults are responsible for their scouts at all times.
  • Safety Rules: Maintain a safe environment by counting scouts when entering and exiting exhibit areas, keeping emergency contact information for each scout, and staying organized.
  • Schedule: Ensure that your group is punctual for their workshops, live science show, and departure.
  • Engagement: Encourage active participation and questions to enhance learning.
  • Behavior: Manage scout behavior as you are responsible while they are in your care. Ensure no running, no food or drinks on the exhibition floor, and maintain respect for exhibits, staff, and other visitors.

Parking

  • There are several public parking garages within 1-4 blocks of the science center, including the following:
    • The Spiral Deck (645 spaces) is located directly behind the science center at 836 Linden St. The walk from there to our group entrance is one block.
    • The Maple Street Parking Deck (1,100 spaces) is located at 920 West Maple St. and offers a 1 to 4 block walk to our group entrance.
  • Please note that overnight parking will cost around $29 and there may be additional fees at some parking garages when there are evening events at the PPL Center.

  • After parking, gear can be dropped off at the Groups & Reserved Program Entrance located on West Court Street, between 8th and 9th Street (this is a one-way street).

Food & Drink

  • Scouts are asked to eat dinner prior to the start of the program.
  • There is no outside food or drink permitted. Reusable water bottles are permitted.
  • A snack will be provided in the evening portion of the program for all scouts.
  • A light continental breakfast will be provided in the morning.

Refunds and Cancellations

  • Registration can be cancelled/transferred with a full refund, minus the 25% non-refundable deposit, up to 30 days prior to the program date.
  • Cancellations made 15-29 days before program date: 50 percent refund
  • Cancellations made 14 days or less before program date: No refund
  • Refunds will not be issued for anyone who does not attend the program unless the Da Vinci Science Center is notified at least two weeks in advance.
  • Da Vinci Science Center reserves the right to cancel a program if the minimum number of registered participants is not met 2 weeks prior to the program date. If the Da Vinci Science Center is forced to cancel a program, groups can transfer to a different program or receive a full refund.

Payment Policy

  • 25% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. Remaining balance is due two weeks prior to the program date. All credit cards used during the registration will be auto-charged the remaining balance at the two week deadline.
  • The deposit must be received within 30 days of receipt but no later than three weeks prior to the trip date.
  • Final payment is required no later than two weeks prior to the program date. Payments will not be accepted the day of the program.
