A Night in Nature: Camp-out at Camp Fowler

What age range is this program good for?

We recommend ages 8+ for this program.

Can I register my child(ren) without any adults?

No. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Both adults and children must register.

Where do I park?

Parking is adjacent to the Carter Family Center, and overflow parking will be in the field across the driveway. Carpooling is encouraged as parking is limited.

Should I bring my own flashlight for the night hike?

Yes, please bring your own flashlights and/or headlamps.

What happens if it rains?

In the case of light rain, we will modify the program to mostly take place under cover. If severe weather is predicted, we will postpone and will announce this as far ahead of time as possible.

Can I bring outside food & drinks?

Outside food and drink are permitted but not required. Dinner and breakfast will be provided, along with s’mores, water, and soft drinks.

How many people stay in an overnight cabin?

You will be asked during registration if you would prefer to share a cabin with other specific families, and we will do our best to accommodate that, space allowing. Each of Camp Fowler’s cabins contains 14 beds – 12 bunks in a large sleeping room, and 2 bunks in a smaller room.

What should I bring if I'm staying overnight?

Suggested packing list: Sleeping bag, pillow, closed-toe (preferably waterproof) shoes, water bottle, bug spray, sunscreen, flashlight. We recommend you dress/pack for the weather.

What food will be provided for dinner and breakfast?

Friday’s dinner will be: Penne pasta w/ pink shallot sauce or marinara sauce, balsamic roasted chicken medallions, pan fried balsamic tofu (vegan-friendly), Caesar salad, garlic bread sticks, fresh baked cookies (gluten free pasta available)

Saturday’s breakfast will be: Assorted bagels w/ cream cheese & butter, peanut butter & jelly, fresh fruit platter, scrambled eggs w/ cheese, tofu scramble, breakfast sausage (vegan), breakfast hashbrown patty (vegan-friendly), breakfast sausage (chicken), assorted cereal and breakfast bars
